Jollibee launches JolliDance Showdown app ! And Limited Edition of Jolly Pinoy Collectibles available

Jollibee, the country’s number one fast-food chain,  launches its first mobile app using augmented reality - JolliDance Showdown app that is sure to be a hit among Jollibee fans of all ages.

It was super fun Saturday, September 24, at Ascott Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, as Jollibee revealed the all-new mobile app that will make use of augmented reality (AR) with the help of the Jollibee Kids Meal box. It allows kids to try some interactive fun with the fast-food chain’s famous mascot, Jollibee.

The app was developed by renowned Los Angeles-based mobile innovation agency, Trigger. The agency has produced applications for other clients like Sony Pictures, Lionsgate Entertainment, and Lucas Film.

Going live with Jollibee AR beats

During the launch, Radio jock Chico Garcia and mom entrepreneur Bettina Carlos, along with her daughter Gummy, were the first to try these features. The experience began by watching the JolliDance Showdown app transform Jollibee’s friendly face on the Jolly Joy Box into a platform. These guests then captured photos for their screen avatars and, after choosing their image on screen, they watched Jollibee and friends enjoy Electro, Pop, and Rock beats.

Other features of the JolliDance Showdown App were also discussed, including unlocking new characters with every visit to Jollibee branches and scanning the Jolly Kiddie Meal promo board located at the store counters.

Just download the app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store for free. The dance showdown with Jollibee, Scan Jollibee character,  and your avatar that you can customize with a quick selfie!

The other choice is the DJ for Jollibee mode where you can customize the tracks your avatar and Jollibee dance to based on the three music choices: Rock, Pop, and Electro.

You can also add more fun with the Jollibee squad into the mix by visiting any Jollibee branch where you can scan the yellow portion of their promo toppers at the cashier to unlock more friends to dance with in the AR app.

Visit the nearest Jollibee branch so you can purchase a Jolly Kiddy Meal and get the Jolly Joy Box it comes with. The app will ask you to then scan the box and it will be the base for all the AR fun you and your kids are about to have.

“Everyone just really loves going to Jollibee. It struck us an important part of the Philippines’ pop culture," according to the Trigger team as they shared their experience in creating the app that captures the lovable persona of the dancing Jollibee. Trigger Senior Director of Client Services Natasha Weinstein shared their impression.

This quick immersion of the app’s designers determined the features and the overall appeal of the app. Trigger President and Executive Creative Director Jason Yim explains the app plays on the sense of community. “Getting friends involved and getting your own avatar involved, that’s definitely the most fun part. You can’t help but smile when you do it."

“The app is pushing how we can engage kids with augmented reality. It’s more than just having characters appear. It’s interactive and gives a much deeper experience.”

The event shared the most recent effort of the leading fast-food brand to augment the langhap-sarap experience. Francis Flores, Jollibee Global brand chief marketing officer, says of its new partnership,

“We are glad to work with Trigger to help enrich the Jollibee experience for children and for the young at heart with the launch of our JolliDance Showdown App. Being the first local fast-food to come up with an augmented reality game, we are very excited for our loyal customers who love Jollibee and Friends, as this gives them an opportunity to interact in a fun way using their mobile phones and tablets. Combining great-tasting food and augmented reality to level up their Jollibee experience -- now that is really an exciting way to engage our customers.”

The JolliDance Showdown App is free for download in iTunes and Google Play Store.

Get the app and watch the Jolly Joy Box go live. The Jolly Joy Box comes free with every purchase of the Jolly Kiddie Meal.

“BELIEVE” Maja Salvador ! The first OPM album to be mastered for iTunes

Maja Salvador will be leaving a huge footprint on the music scene with her debut album “Believe”. And it is not loosely said so. As apart from the album being certified Gold last June (only 2 months after the official release) and obtaining an official Vevo channel on YouTube with views summing up to almost 6 million, the album takes the cake off the plate of its contemporaries once again by becoming the first OPM album to be mastered for iTunes.

A “mastered for iTunes” song is a digitally downloadable track on iTunes, taking legs of optimization to make every bit of it in the highest definition possible and as close to how artists and their production team intend every song to be heard as possible, while keeping the music file size down for portability and for more efficient digital distribution.

The calibre that “Believe” has set for itself makes it well-worthy of this iTunes mastery. As it geared away from traditional instrumentation and instead adopted modern production, it has become the most ideal vehicle to drive our eardrums to crave newness from the OPM department. All the while the album never lost sight of what is really important: it’s an OPM record. Note that all songs were penned in Filipino to butter up Maja’s new-fashioned Pinay image interbred with pop-house-R&B sound that could run parallel with American Top 40 tracks.

This leap of Maja’s music to verge into the digital age is a gutsy deal in changing the game face of the local music industry not just in the manner of distribution and consumption of music, but also in its production and ultimately, the artistry. Now you can listen in hi-def to the album with crystal-clear vocals, smoother strums and deeper thumps as if each of the tracks just got off the LASIK chair.

A milestone like this wasn’t far from Maja’s horizons to begin with. The way she wants things to happen in her music career is to take the qualitative side of the road, obvious in the production of her songs and the videos for them: never dry and juiceless.

Maja believed that “Believe” would go places, and the album took the entire industry with it.

There’s no denying it. “Believe” is a key part of OPM music history now.

The mastered for iTunes “Believe” contains the original tracklist:

WALA NA BANG PAG-IBIG

The Original Diva KUH LEDESMA Returns With "Memories"

Miss Kuh Ledesma, the Original Diva and Pop Diva  returns with her latest album"Memories" as she lends her lush, crystal clear voice to beautifully-penned love songs that perfectly capture unforgettable romantic memories, unforgettable love songs.

This is her reunion project with Universal Records and famed composer Cecile Azarcon. “Memories” reunites Kuh with two industry partners.

Inspired by the album's track "One More Try," and leaning more on the acoustic side, Kuh hopes that the songs in "Memories" make you fall in love over and over again. It’s simply a beautiful, beautiful love song, that’s why today’s generation was able to appreciate it, even if it was written in the ’80s. It’s a classic love song. It only shows that a good song will make it no matter what. One More Try was composed by Cecille Azarcon. Kuh is in "My Husband’s Lover," as the mom of a gay man, a role that she found challenging and which earned her kudos for her portrayal.

And now,  she gets to work again with famed composer Cecile Azarcon.

“Every Cecil Azarcon is destined to be a hit,” says Kuh. “I’ve always loved how she writes her words. They are her experiences of love, joy and pain.”

Kuh adds that she is pleased to have been given this chance to record seven of Cecil’s songs for “Memories.”

The Pop Diva also expresses gratitude to Cecil Azarcon for letting her record and re-record these amazing songs – “I Think I’m In Love,” “One More Try,” “So It’s You,” “Special Memory,” “Huwag Kang Mangako,” “How Did You Know” and “Hello.”

“So It’s You” is the theme of the upcoming movie of the same title with lead stars Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana.

Being in the music industry for 35 years, Miss Kuh shares that the secret for the longevity of her career is to "Work with the best, work hard and don't remain stagnant. Plan ahead. Never wait for people to do things for you and research. We continue to do God's work which is the giftings that he has given us."

She also revealed that after 15 years, "Music and Magic" reunion will be happening here in the Philippines this coming September and October and November for the US.

Maja Salvador Releases New Album “Believe”

The "Dance Princess", Kapamilya star and actress Maja Salvador is now a singer. It was December 2013 when Maja signed a recording contract with Ivory Music & Video. After months of excitement and anticipation, the actress-turned-singer unleashes her talent in singing with her debut album BELIEVE!

Produced by award-winning arranger and producer, Jonathan Ong, the album features 8 tracks including her first single “Dahan-Dahan” and the sure-to-be hit collaboration with hip-hop star Abra called “Halikana”. Maja Salvador also awakens the songwriter in her as she co-writes a track called “Buong Gabi” featuring Project Pinas.

It was not a long time ago when Kapamilya star, Maja Salvador, appeared on Gandang Gabi Vice and shared that she’s serious about pursuing singing as a career, “Gusto ko na, kaya nga ako nag-tour kasi 10 years na ako sa business.” She even shared that she was taking voice lessons from Annie Quintos of The Company.

“Gusto ko i-share sa kanila [sa fans] na meron akong bagong minamahal, which is yung pag-kanta. Sobrang swerte lang na may nakarinig ng boses ko from Ivory Music na yun nga, willing silang gumawa ng album ko.”

"Gusto ko ma-prove na singer din ako, na kaya kong kumanta. Parang ‘si Maja, hindi lang sya umaarte, hindi lang sya sumasayaw, pero kaya din niyang ibigay lahat sa music, sa paggawa ng isang kanta’.

The “Dance Princess” shared that this album is a dream come true for her as not everyone is given the chance to have a record deal, “Hindi lahat sumusugal na bigyan ng album ang isang artista so I’m very thankful. Sobrang naa-amaze ako sa nangyayari sa akin today.”

She admitted that the recording process wasn’t an easy ride for her since it’s a first-time endeavor to record a music album, but all was well with the help of the engineers at Sonic State Studios. “Parang nung umpisa, hindi ko alam kung tama ba yung ginagawa ko kasi first time ko mag-record ng kanta [at] first time ko gumawa ng album pero nahanap ko rin yung placement ng voice ko,” she confesses.

Surreal would be the best word to explain her feeling when she heard her first single “Dahan Dahan” on the radio, “Nung una ko siyang narinig sa radyo, nakatulala lang ako kasi parang hindi parin ako makapaniwala.” In fact, her first single hit the radio airwaves and music charts by storm. After its first week of airing, “Dahan-Dahan” reached as high as #1 on the radio charts including MOR Dagupan. It’s also one of the top-selling songs on iTunes and her song landed on the top spot along with foreign artists since its release on March 6, 2014.

Maja is just beyond grateful to be enjoying the blessings coming her way, “Grabe na yung nangyayari sakin ngayon, yung mga blessings na dumating talaga na parang dun lang ako nagising talaga nung narinig ko na siya sa radyo na eto na, totoo talaga na meron na akong album.

The Morning Episodes collaborate with Solenn to create “Until The Sunrise”

After breaking through US Radio last year, The Morning Episodes kick off 2014 on a high with the release of “Until the Sunrise” -- a collaboration with actress / singer Solenn Heussaff. The track is the official theme song of Solenn’s new movie “Mumbai Love”, which is hitting theaters this January.

The film was directed by Benito Bautista, produced by Capestone Pictures in assoc. with Wanderlustproject Films and is being distributed by Solar Entertainment.
“Until the Sunrise” is a breath of fresh air to the local music scene with its unique elements, arrangement and delivery. According to band frontman Miguel Escueta most of the song was written using an iPad. “Its amazing how that square piece of technology can help you so much creatively”, he shares. “Solenn heard the demo more than a year ago through a common friend and she got in touch with me right away, saying that she wanted to work on it together. Her voice was just perfect for it and it turns out that the song sounded even better as a duet.”
In the early stages of filming “Mumbai Love” Solenn shared the song with director Benito Bautista and producer Emma Francisco. They immediately fell in love with the track and, at that instant, knew that they had just found their theme song for the film. They shot the music video while filming the movie, in between all the takes in several locations. It can now be viewed online via Youtube (youtube.com/wanderlustproject) and it set to air on MYX this week.

“Until the Sunrise” is available exclusively via iTunes, released by MCA Music Inc.
