Salamat sa Joy: Jollibee shares in the collective gratitude of Filipinos in the new normal

For many Filipinos, Jollibee is a place that holds many joyful memories. From family celebrations, impromptu work lunch dates, thesis meet-ups after school, and even simple family lunch out on weekends, Jollibee has been witness to these countless memorable moments.

These ordinary joys, however, were temporarily put on hold because of the pandemic and the restrictions that had to be set for everyone's safety. While Jollibee continued to serve its customers as they stayed home or experienced limited mobility, most still longed for the joy of getting together and eating out at their go-to happy place.

Now, with the continuous vaccination roll-out and easing of quarantine restrictions, people are slowly having the confidence to enjoy their pre-pandemic activities again. After two years of lockdown, people have a newfound sense of joy and gratitude as they look forward to making more happy memories with their loved ones.

Jollibee shares in the joy and excitement while still ensuring the safety of its customers as it releases its latest safety video – Salamat sa Joy ng Muling Pagsasama. Featuring a cover of the song “Salamat” originally sang by the Dawn, the video captures the experience of dining out in the new normal and the greater appreciation of being able to spend time again with family and friends.
As people slowly embrace the new normal, Jollibee hopes to bring back

We’re grateful that our stores are now at 100% capacity and our store teams are fully vaccinated, and our goal is to keep offering our customers the same ‘Alagang Jollibee’ customer service that they’ve known to trust. This way they can continue having joyful moments safely as we embrace the new normal,” shared Francis Flores, Jollibee Global and Jollibee Philippines Marketing Head.

Since the start of the pandemic, the country’s leading fast-food chain has strictly adhered to COVID-19 protocols. Specific safety measures have also been implemented for Dine-In, Take Out, Drive-Thru, and Delivery operations to safeguard the well-being of both employees and customers as they enjoy their Jollibee favorites.

"Everything I Need to Learn This Summer, I Learned from Jollibee" - Jollibee Mini Managers Camp/JKC kids

Kids share to us how the enjoyed their time spending summer at Jollibee.

Brothers Tyler and Tyreke Ang had a fun idea last summer: both signed up as kiddie managers at their favorite jolly place, Jollibee.

“I love going to Jollibee because every visit brings happy memories. So my brother and I wanted to experience what it was like working there. And we did last summer,” said 8-year-old Tyler.

Tyler was talking about the Jollibee Mini Managers Camp, where members of the Jolly Kiddie Club (JKC) enjoyed a week of fun activities involving art, storytelling, kitchen work and of course, being little managers of the store complete with their manager’s uniform.

The kids manned the 300 participating Jollibee branches nationwide.

Starting fresh on their roles, the energetic brothers got to know their way around the store during the first day. Hearing the humble beginnings of Jollibee and how a certain Mister Tony turned it to become the country’s iconic fast food chain gave a jolt of inspiration to the young managers to do well in their new role.

“I loved greeting everyone ‘Jolly morning! Welcome to Jollibee!’” said 4-year-old Tyreke, who also got awarded as “Most Bubbly” in his group.

Tyler said he enjoyed learning kitchen tricks like how to make his favorite yummy burger, including a proper way to wrap burgers.

Of course, nobody went home without learning impressive dance moves from their favorite mascot, Jollibee. Both kids discovered their love for dancing, thanks to their beloved bee.

From the kitchen work to greeting people and showing off groovy dance skills at fun parties, the kiddie managers saw everyone in the team giving their best so kids and families are assured of a jolly dining experience.

“My mom told me being a manager is more than a title. It means taking care of people and appreciating everyone for doing a good job,” said Tyler.

From his own experience, Tyler said a manager is humble, a good listener and also helps create a spirit of fun in the jolly workplace.

“I learned from the camp that a manager’s job means taking care of the team and the customers, showing respect to everyone and being friendly. I think it also pays to be thankful to people for doing their best in their jobs,” said Tyler.

Summer sure is over but the kiddie managers said they would both practice the lessons they learned at the Jollibee camp and apply it in school and at home.

“Spending summer at Jollibee was more than fun. It inspired us to be better,” said Tyler.

If your kids are not JKC members yet, just visit a Jollibee store to register.

Celebrating Filipinos' love affair with the new Jollibee ads debut this Valentine’s Day

Real-life stories... making each memory more memorable.

Jollibee, the nation’s favorite fast food chain has its own fair share of life’s experiences and surprises. Capturing the country’s largest fast food chain’s enduring love affair with generations of Filipinos, Jollibee’s four new made-for-digital videos are now available for viewing online in time for Valentine’s Day celebration. To tug at viewers’ heartstrings are stories inspired by real-life experiences that all show how Jollibee has played a meaningful role in the lives of Pinoys.

Jollibee marketing and advertising people with the new TV ads cast and director during the media premier held at My Cinema in Greenbelt 3, February 12, 2016.

One of a very emotional moments I had last Friday, during the exclusive media premier held at My Cinema in Greenbelt 3, with the members of the press were treated to an advanced viewing of 4 heart warming “Mga Kuwentong Pilipinong pinasarap ng Jollibee” videos.

Francis E. Flores, Jollibee Global Brand Chief Marketing Officer  said, “Every Pinoy can relate to the TV ads as they are based on real stories from our customers. They depict the everyday lives of Filipinos and how they express their love to their families, and the role that Jollibee plays in making each memory more memorable.”

Francis E. Flores, Jollibee Global Brand Chief Marketing Officer and event host Ginger Conejero.

The stories are told through the eyes of a real-life and long-time store manager, who through 22 years have seen more than her fair share of families bonding at Jollibee, which has served as a happy second home for most Filipinos. This is captured in the omnibus video which ties all the stories together.

The “ALMUSAL” video features an old couple who regularly gets breakfast at Jollibee, getting the same meals as part of their daily morning routine. The story takes a bitter sweet twist as the husband carries on the breakfast tradition with their daughter when the wife passes away.

The “TAGPUAN” video features a young boy who got lost in the mall and was found by his mom at Jollibee. The story capitalizes on accounts of real moms’ precautionary practice of telling their kids to go to the nearest Jollibee store if they get separated at the mall.

The “JABEE” TVC features a toddler who’s first word is “Jabee” (baby talk for ‘Jollibee’), and he utters this line all throughout the day, signifying his fondness for the brand. Emphasizing how Jollibee’s influence is strongest among kids at the "Jabee."

“It is really quite a challenge to be able to capture the different kinds of bonding moments that Filipino families have shared inside Jollibee stores throughout the years. Lucky for the team, we had a wealth of personal experiences to draw from, coming from real customers through the years who have made lasting memories in a Jollibee store. We, the cast and crew, hope that these Jollibee videos bring you on a journey to be closer with your families,” Ianco Dela Cruz, TVC Director, said.

The Souperstar of the House of Oriental and Asian Cuisine

“If you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen” is indeed true for most food entrepreneurs.

In the competitive space of the culinary business, only the toughest survive. But for Gerry Chua, a businessman with both a vision and a mission, the heat in the kitchen even more fires up his passion to offer the best dining experience.

Try visiting his restaurant Mr. Ube Rice and Noodle House and you’ll find out for yourself why this food mecca is already making noise among culinary connoisseurs.

Chinese cuisine constitutes majority of Mr. Ube Rice and Noodle House’s menu, there are an array of food offerings that will surely tickle your taste buds. Take your pick: noodle soup, rice toppings, stir fry noodles, dimsum, and a lot more.
We take pride in the restaurant's specialty: our noodles. Our noodles are made fresh every day. We use state-of-the-art Japanese technology in making them,” said Chua. “Our ingredients are natural and they have no preservatives. I am proud to say that the food we serve at Mr. Ube Rice and Noodle House are MSG-free and they are non-grease.”

From the very basic chicken noodle soup to wanton noodle, Mr. Ube Rice and Noodle House also features a variety of international noodle soups.

Want to try Thai? Order Thai Tom Yam.

Hungry like a lion? The Singaporean Laksa is for you.

Craving for Japanese? Sip some Japanese Shoyu.

If Chinese is your choice, then Gokong Noodle should be on your plate.

These and more will let you experience a gastronomic adventure in this noodle house.

Since Chua is also the visionary behind Eng Bee Tin Chinese Deli, some of its varied product ranges can also be ordered at Mr. Ube Rice and Noodle House. Its most famous ube hopia and all-time favorite tikoy can be have when you visit any branch.
With a rich history that can be traced from humble beginnings in Ongpin, Eng Bee Tin has mastered the art of producing world-class Oriental delicacies. Because Chua knows his way around business, he found a way to reinvent a rather usual hopia by blending it with ube, the most popular ice cream flavor at the time. The rest is history as Eng Bee Tin’s ube hopia became a household name.
Eng Bee Tin products are locally available in various supermarkets, groceries, restaurants, office, and school canteens. The company is also one of the biggest international exporters of hopia, delivering to Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the USA.

Chua also ensures that quality is key. The company uses automated hopia manufacturing processes and implements a strict hygienic standards of quality control by running the final product through metal detectors, and packaging it in a hygienic pillow pack.

Though a businessman, Chua knows his responsibility to the community where his businesses operate from. In Ongpin where Eng Bee Tin is found, the company donated to the local volunteer fire brigade as evidenced by the purple fire engines that make their way through fire incidents and situations in the vicinity. His other business, Cafe Mezzanine, is also making an impact to the community as its revenues are completely donated to Binondo Paco Fire Volunteer. Recognizing the efforts and hard work fire volunteers put into their job, they get a 20-percent discount when they dine at Cafe Mezzanine, located at the heart of Chinatown. That is if their free coffee is not yet enough.

Our commitment to our society should be never-ending,” said Chua.

“Mr. Ube Rice and Noodle House aims to acquire five units of ambulance to serve the indigents who can’t afford to pay for ambulance service to hospitals.”

Chua’s entrepreneurial vision is deliciously complemented by his life mission to touch lives. No wonder he is one accomplished man and his businesses, successful without a doubt.

My New Addicting Friend - BonChon Chicken!

This holidays , I spend time for our shopping for the Christmas, with my family.  One  Saturday night we were in Trinoma Mall Quezon City. Mall crowded, but that’s really holidays shopping and Christmas gifts and many more things are the main functions of all. Not was done with everything we want to do and wish to have, but feel hungry. That time I want to eat dinner, we walk around and look for something new. All restaurants , fast food  and  coffee shops , all are full!

We saw this new,  Bonchon Chicken. Ambiance is nice for a fast food. There were lots of people dining in and we need to be wait to be seated.

But after few minutes, we had our place. We grab a simple and easy to serve to us, a pack of medium chicken wings 12 pieces and rice. And wow! Chicken are yummy! And we have Ice tea.

The chicken is super crispy and not greasy and delicious.

BonChon  has addicting chicken, crispy, light, with hot juicy meat flavored with your choice of soy garlic or the hot and spicy glaze.

I think It’s the original highly-addicting formula that keeps people coming back for more. They’re affordable.

I read their menu fliers , "Best Chicken in America," "The original Korean fried chicken secret."

We'll definitely be back next time to try more offerings.
