Mizuno, perfectly balanced for your daily runs - Here's Wave Catalyst 2 and Wave Shadow, for the Squad Run: Road to 42km

Whether you're running or playing sports, you are always competing, here's a brand that’s on the same quest for perfection. Mizuno offers a wide range of shoes to cater to different types of runners, so you can find the right shoe for your running needs!

Mizuno Philippines launched their featured performance running shoes, the Wave Catalyst 2 and Wave Shadow, for the month of July.

Last Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Mizuno Store in Bonifacio High Street, both shoes were launched together with the Mizuno’s Squad Run: Road to 42km.

The launch was with Mizuno sponsored running coaches, Ige Lopez, Pat Joson and Nhea Barcena with some of their students and together with bloggers and writers attended the said event.

Brand introduction was led by Karla Bello, the Business Unit Senior Manager and Marketing head for Master Sports - Mizuno while the product presentation was done by Xavier Medina, who is also the Business Unit Senior Manager and Product Specialist.

Coach Ige Lopez also, shared with the attendees his experience and love for the featured products and lastly, the Squad Run: Road to 42km was discussed by Madeleine Castillo, the Marketing Communications Officer. All attendees got to bring home their own pair of Wave Catalyst 2 and Wave Shadow.

The Wave Catalyst 2 and the Wave Shadow come hand in hand when it comes to performance, one is for support and the other is for neutral, respectively. The Wave Catalyst 2 comes in two colors for men, one color is blue and its updated color way is red while the Wave Shadow only comes in blue.

Performance shoes are built with lower profile midsole dimensions for a more responsive performance ride. The Wave Catalyst 2 is a responsive performance support trainer that aims to keep up with runners who do fast training on a daily basis. It has been redesigned and reborn as a true performance shoe. It has a lowered offset at 10mm, yet the sole design remains the same as its predecessor, with the U4ic midsole material that offers more bounce and durability.

The upper area as compared to the previous Catalyst has been made into a light weight and highly breathable engineered mesh with the Run Bird logo arch support and soft PU printed overlays straight from the Bio-mimicry concept, which are strategically placed to form the shoe around the arch and heel. It also has a softer collar that lets the ankle area feel more free.

The Wave Shadow is a new model by Mizuno. It is a new revolutionary everyday fast, go to shoe. It is lightweight, highly responsive, and cushioned enough to keep the runner going fast. The Wave Shadow just like the Wave Catalyst 2 are performance trainers but is made for neutral foot types.

The sole offers a perfect blend of speed and comfort, the 8mm heel drop will give the user that “low-to- ground” feel of a racing shoe while the cushioned supportive midsole provides a running shoe like comfort. The latest updates will not let you down on a fast run. As for its upper, the pursuit of perfection and simplicity has taken the upper fit comfort to new heights. It has an internal toe cap with a one-piece mesh upper construction that provides a seamless fit.

As mentioned, this Squad Run aims to have its runners eventually run 42 km. Hence, runners who continuously improve and attend would receive prizes from Mizuno. The runners will also be able to do this incrementally, with the help of Milestone runs. These runs are optional runs and will be in the form of OYMor On Your Mark and the Osaka Marathon 2018. Bringing its advocacy of health and fitness closer to more Filipinos, Golden Fiesta, the Philippines’ leading cooking oil brand, is holding the first leg of the Golden Fiesta Heart Healthy Camp at Solenad 1 in Nuvali, Laguna, on Saturday, November 11.

The free-admission fitness camp is expected to gather—in a single venue—not just scores of fitness enthusiasts but legions of young professionals who want to be heart-healthy by jump-starting a fitness regimen.

Participants can choose from an assortment of fitness routines and activities that are categorized into beginner, intermediate, and advance levels to suit their varying fitness requirements. They can also listen to and engage in “Heart Talks” to be administered by licensed Nutritionist-Dietician and fitness specialist Fia Batua.

Apart from the workout activities, a live cooking demo and food sampling using heart-healthy Golden Fiesta Canola Oil by NutriAsia will be conducted by Pinoy celebrity chef and fitness buff Jose Sarasola. Participants will learn how to prepare simple, heart-healthy meals like Golden Fiesta Lettuce Salad with Guyabano Vinaigrette, Golden Fiesta Bangus Back Fillet and Adobo Kangkong Duo, and Golden Fiesta Japanese Chicken Katsu in Curry Sauce.

Golden Fiesta Canola Oil is a rich source of the cholesterol-reducing phytosterols, an all-natural plant extract that can reduce your body’s cholesterol level by as much as 15 percent. Scientific studies and trials show that consumption of two grams of phytosterols per day has the potential of diminishing one’s risk of developing coronary heart disease.

Interested participants may sign up at the registration area at Solenad 1-Flex Lot, Nuvali on Nov. 11 as early as 6 a.m. They will get a free test to check their current fitness status using Golden Fiesta’s Karada machines before proceeding to a warm-up session. They will also be given a special event passport that will be stamped after finishing each fitness activity. The Golden Fiesta Heart Healthy Camp at Nuvali will run until 11 a.m.

According to Carl Constantino, category marketing manager at NutriAsia, the Golden Fiesta Heart Healthy Camp is the brand’s way of reaching out to Filipino consumers, encouraging them to be more mindful of their food choices and to maintain an active lifestyle despite tight schedules.

“We are encouraging everyone, particularly residents of Laguna and nearby cities and municipalities, to drop by Nuvali, the first destination of our Golden Fiesta Heart Healthy Camp, on Nov. 11,” Constantino said.

“They must explore this opportunity to learn and enjoy new fitness techniques from fitness experts and enthusiasts—all for free. At the same time, our camp participants can pick up useful tips from nutrition and fitness experts and learn how to cook their favorite fried dishes—plus new dishes that they can try at home—using heart-healthy Golden Fiesta Canola Oil.”

After the Nuvali leg, the Golden Fiesta Heart Healthy Camp will proceed to Track 30th at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig on November 26 (Sunday) and to Eton Centris Walk in Quezon City on December 3 (Sunday). ASIA'S MOST EXCITING RUN IS ABOUT TO GET EVEN LOUDER THIS YEAR

The ultimate 5k running and music festival drew nearly ten thousand runners when it first made waves in the Philippines last year.

This year, The Music RunTM by Philam Vitality returns to amp up an equally large—or even larger—crowd with everyone’s favorite hits playing on 120 concert-quality speakers across McKinley West in Taguig City.

In partnership with music streaming service Spotify, The Music RunTM by Philam Vitality will rock Manila on December 3. Last call for registration is on November 25.

Philam Life has been at the forefront of leading innovations in the life insurance industry to change the general perception about insurance. Insurance is about living life to the fullest without worry and being healthy to pursue one’s passion and achieve one’s goals.

“This is the second time that Philam Life is partnering with The Music RunTM. We want to send a strong message that being healthy can also be fun and engaging,” Deputy Head of Philam Vitality Kats Cajucom said.

“One of our company’s main thrusts is healthy living through our Philam Vitality program, which is the first of its kind in the Philippines. It is a full-scale wellness program where members get rewarded for making healthy choices. Through Philam Vitality, we are taking active steps to positively transform the lives of Filipinos by helping them live longer, healthier, and better lives,” Cajucom added.

“While most fun runs originate from the US, The Music RunTM started in Asia and expanded throughout the region before crossing over to Europe and the US in the last two years,” said Martin Capstick, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Exceed Sports and Entertainment who is organizing the run.

“The reason for its massive success is its winning formula that combines music with the ever- growing fitness craze into the ultimate running and music festival that also puts control of the run’s soundtrack in the hands of our Music RunnersTM,” he added.

The five-kilometer run will include five music-themed zones playing rock, pop, old school, hip hop, and dance. Using the live Spotify Music Voting App on www.themusicrun.com.ph, participants can vote up to five songs per playlist every day to build the official soundtrack for each zone.

The ultimate after-run music festival includes world class DJs, live bands, dancers, laser lights, LED screens, fireworks, chill out zones, giveaways - and plenty more!

Rock Star, Pop Star or Dance Floor Demon, register now and come LIVE THE BEAT!

The event will kick off with a pre-run performance by up and coming local alternative band Sud, while the after-run music festival will feature Australian radio house DJ Sam Withers.

Music RunnersTM can select from two event packs—the Standard Pack for P850 and the Rock Star Pack for P1,400. The Standard Pack comes with a T-shirt, bag, beat band, sticker, and temporary tattoo. Those who would like to party with the Rock Star Pack will also receive a towel, water bottle, and cap.

Late registration for The Music RunTM by Philam Vitality starts on November 1. Standard and Rock Star Packs for late registrants are priced at P950 and P1,600 respectively. Children less than five years old can join the run for free.

For last call registrations starting on November 21, the Standard and Rock Star Packs will cost P1,050 and P1,800 respectively.
