Planning the Best Holy Week Vacation: Top Picks and Safety Insights
If you're still in the process of planning your well-deserved holy week vacation, Prestone®, a renowned and trusted brand in Auto Care fluids since 1927, has curated a list of unique destinations, accompanied by practical car care tips to ensure a seamless and enjoyable travel experience for you and your loved ones.
Spend a night with nature through glamping in Zambales
Glamping, a combination of the words 'glam' and 'camping,' is the latest trend among those who want to experience a glamorous version of camping—perfect for those in need of a break from the bustling chaos of the city.
One of the famous sites you can visit is located in San Felipe, Zambales, called The Glamp. The glamping site features boho-themed tents, making it a top choice for those who appreciate the stylish aesthetic for their pictures. The site is also near the beach, which is a plus if you’re looking for more recreational activities aside from relaxing underneath the beautiful summer sky.
Seek solitude on an island in Pangasinan
If you seek solitude and tranquility on a secluded islet, then the beach at the heart of Pangasinan is perfect for you. Colibra Island in Dasol, Pangasinan, boasts clear white sands and rock formations that surround the island, providing a perfect view for relaxation.
The advantage of this island is it’s not well known among typical tourists, ensuring a lack of crowds even during peak seasons. Moreover, the place becomes even more enchanting at night, making it perfect for stargazing and appreciating the vastness of the open sky.
Experience a healing hike in the mountains of Sierra Madre
If you're seeking a unique and rewarding adventure, consider testing your strength and patience on a mountain hike. Fortunately, a beginner-friendly trail is accessible in the highlands of Tanay called Mt. Kulis. This mountain offers a scenic view at a height of 620 MASL and is well-known among outdoor enthusiasts.
One advantage of Mt. Kulis is that you can customize your hiking experience, and there's a cemented road leading to the jump-off point for easy parking. Once you start, the trail is easy, and you can also explore various attractions along the way, providing opportunities for aesthetic pictures.
Prepare yourself and your ride for the best holy week
adventure
Why ruin the joy of vacations with stress over an unpleasant car ride? That is why Prestone urges everyone to perform a thorough check before embarking on your next adventure.
Given that these listed destinations involve substantial driving, it's crucial to conduct comprehensive research on your route, considering traffic hotspots and rest stops. Additionally, ensure your RFID sticker is in working order for seamless and secure transactions during toll payments, promising a more convenient travel experience. Don't forget to securely stick your RFID sticker to avoid non-detection and register it under the vehicle owner's name for accountability.
Check the necessary fluids of your car
Road trips can take a toll on your vehicle, so careful preparation is key to avoiding trouble. Prevent overheating on the road by using Prestone Car-Specific Coolant for superior protection. This convenient, high-quality, prediluted coolant is ideal for emergency refills and is equipped with Prestone Cor-Guard Anti-Corrosion technology, offering 5X more effective corrosion protection.
For added safety, equip your ride with a powerful brake fluid like Prestone Brake Fluid DOT 3. Formulated for safe, dependable, and consistent performance in the hydraulic brake system, it helps protect your brakes against overheating, brake fade, and performance decline.
Use high-quality and genuine car care products
During a holy week road trip, ensuring your vehicle is in its tip-top condition is crucial, and this won't happen if you use subpar or counterfeit car products.
“If you aim to protect your car and withstand unforeseen accidents or costly repairs, Prestone emphasizes the importance of using genuine products designed specifically to meet your vehicle’s needs,” said Monique Gonzalez, Marketing Manager for Clorox Southeast Asia.
Here are the 3Ps you should note for your protection:
· Packaging: Detecting counterfeit products can be tricky as they often mimic the appearance of the genuine item at first glance. Here is a quick guide on fake vs genuine that you can refer to:
·
Price:
Significantly cheaper
products are likely fake compared to genuine Prestone products. If they are
marketed as discounts, please double-check if Prestone is having a promotional
sale. If not, it's probably fake.
· Place: Purchase only from official Prestone partner stores like Blade, Ace, Handyman, TrueValue and auto-supply shops nationwide.
These reminders not only save potential costs but also save lives. Para sa totoong proteksyon, use genuine Prestone products only.
The best Holy Week vacation begins with meticulous planning and maintaining your car in optimal condition. By considering these Holy Week destinations, along with these safety tips, you will not only guarantee a delightful journey but also elevate your driving experience.

Grab Launches GrabCar in CDO, Strengthens Economic Empowerment Commitment in the City
The leading superapp officially launches its flagship mobility service in Cagayan De Oro, expanding its portfolio of services in the city which is currently composed of GrabFood and GrabTaxi
Grab officially launched GrabCar in Cagayan De Oro City as part of its commitment to the economic empowerment in the region. Photo above shows Grab Philippines Head of Mobility EJ Dela Vega [Center-Left] with CDO Councilors George Goking, Romeo Calizo and Malvern Esparcia; and officials from LTFRB Region 10
CAGAYAN DE ORO, 18 January 2024 - Grab Philippines, a dedicated partner in the nation-building efforts of the government, is strengthening its commitment to economic empowerment in Cagayan De Oro. With the official launch of its flagship mobility service GrabCar, Grab is not only providing Kagay-anons with a viable transportation option but is also creating a new avenue for generating livelihoods and stimulating economic activity in the City of Golden Friendship.
GrabCar is a beloved and trusted mobility service for Filipino commuters. Built on a foundation of safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, GrabCar stands as an effective mobility alternative for the Filipino commuting public. GrabCar currently services the area from Laguindingan Airport up to the end of Lapasan and Upper Balulang.
Cagayan De Oro is the second city in Mindanao to welcome the GrabCar service, furthering the leading superapp’s mission to create sustainable opportunities and foster economic growth across the region.
Grab Philippines Head of Mobility Marketplace EJ Dela Vega shares, “Our superapp model allows us to know and deeply understand Kagay-anons best - from the way they commute through GrabTaxi, to the way they enjoy their everyday meals through GrabFood. Grab continues to be attentive to the needs of the market and we believe that now is the right time to offer Kagay-anons a mobility solution that not only meets their everyday needs but also positively contributes to the long-term success of CDO.”
Cagayan De Oro Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy also underscored the strong partnership of the city with the leading superapp. “Cagayan De Oro actively forges partnerships with industry leaders like Grab as we make strides toward our vision of solid economic performance and a thriving citizenry. The launch of Grab in our city has given Kagay-anon entrepreneurs, drivers and riders access to a robust marketplace that fosters high-success potential – something only a superapp ecosystem can offer. We are glad to welcome GrabCar and are excited to see the new opportunities it is bringing for our kabayayans,” Mayor Uy shares.
The Grab Superapp Journey in
CDO: A Long-Standing Commitment to Economic Empowerment
In an effort to digitalize the taxi ecosystem in Cagayan De Oro, Grab launched GrabTaxi in 2015. Since then, Grab has been forging close partnerships with key taxi operators in the city. This collaboration has resulted in the onboarding of hundreds of GrabTaxi driver-partners, enabling them to substantially boost their earnings potential through increased bookings facilitated on the platform.
As Southeast Asia’s leading superapp, Grab has also expanded its presence in CDO outside of mobility with the launch of GrabFood in May 2020. This addition has proven to be instrumental in fostering a thriving ecosystem for local entrepreneurial ventures, regardless of their size. By democratizing access to user-friendly growth tools, cutting-edge technology, and capacity-building programs, Grab has empowered MSMEs to achieve sustainable growth on the platform. One outstanding example of a homegrown CDO merchant-partner that has experienced equitable success on Grab is Frkn Burger. Since its launch on Grab, Frkn Burger has achieved a remarkable ten-fold increase in its average weekly delivery orders and has also opened its second branch. This earned them a well-deserved spot among the prestigious Golden Grab Awardees for 2023.
An Expansive Horizon of
Partnership
As
a devoted partner for economic empowerment of the Cagayan De Oro local
government, Grab Philippines will continue to leverage its technology,
extensive network of highly engaged users, and community-focused approach to
unlock new possibilities for growth and prosperity. Dela Vega notes, “The
horizon of collaboration between Grab and the local government of Cagayan De
Oro continues to be expansive. Together, we're orchestrating a future of
sustainable opportunities that create pathways for local everyday entrepreneurs
to realize their aspirations. This is a testament to the transformative power
of partnership, innovative technology, and the boundless potential of the
Filipino spirit.”

Chevron holds annual coastal cleanup in Batangas for sea turtles nesting season
Chevron employees and members of the local government in Batangas joined
hands during the annual coastal cleanup in San Pascual Batangas.
To
help pave the way for a safer sea turtle nesting season, Chevron Philippines
Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex fuels and lubricants, and its partners managed
to collect about 685 bags of non-biodegradable and biodegradable trash from the
coast of San Pascual, Batangas during a recent coastal cleanup.
CPI has been organizing the coastal cleanup in San Pascual for 10 years which is a nesting site for Olive-Ridley sea turtles. The activity also aims to boost the volunteerism spirit among the people of CPI and the community in San Pascual. More than 80 participants, composed of employees and contractors from CPI and the local government unit, joined this year.
The coastline in San Pascual straddles the Chevron Batangas Terminal, which has been a major facility of Chevron for more than 65 years and a home to marine animals, including sea turtles. More recently, 10 Olive Ridley sea turtle nests were spotted near the foot of the wharf between the causeway. To date, Chevron Batangas has released a total of 111 hatchlings. CPI commits itself to making the shoreline a safe habitat for sea creatures as part of its dedication to human safety, livelihood, and the environment.

World Champions, Marc & Alex Marquez, Balance Over 200 Bamboo Baskets in Scooter Competition Ahead of Thailand MotoGP
Thailand, October 25, 2023 – Modest scooters adorned with towering stacks behind! No, it's not the bustling streets of Thailand, but a riveting scooter race between 8-time MotoGP world Champion, Marc Marquez, and his Moto2 world Champion brother, Alex Marquez, as they weave through the quiet, grassy dirt tracks of Buriram. In this eccentric pre-Grand Prix challenge, the brothers pitted their skills against each other, turning the competition into a spectacle that showcased their balance and competitiveness.
“To ride the loaded scooter was a bit strange because when you’re turning, especially when you hit some bumps, the scooter was moving super heavy in a very aggressive way. When I see all the scooters in Bangkok and in Buriram, even tuk tuks, I say this must be difficult, especially in the middle of traffic. And I appreciate it a lot because they [local riders] have really good skills,” shares Marc Marquez with a laugh.
Alex Marquez shared similar sentiments, stating "What I enjoyed most was the race against Marc with the cones. We touched a few times, but it was really nice. Difficult to manage, but really fun!”
New Team, New Challenge
The mini competition, potentially foreshadowing what's to come, took place during the aftermath of Marc Marquez’s announcement to join a new team next year. In a strategic move that has sent shockwaves through the racing community, Marc and Alex will join forces at the Gresini Ducati team in 2024, setting the stage for a narrative of brotherly teamwork and competitive spirit.
“It will be a very nice challenge next year competing with another manufacturer and another team, but especially with and against my brother," Marc Marquez shares.
Despite the whirlwind of recent changes in Marc's career, the vibe was undeniably electric, a sentiment that is expected to resonate to the actual race event this weekend. Marc is geared up to close out the remaining 2023 season on a high note. An outpouring of excitement has marked Marc’s return to Thailand as he is thrilled to reconnect with the passionate Thai fans once again.
"It’s super
nice to be back in Thailand because I have very good memories. My last
championship was here in Thailand, Buriram in 2019. Always, I’ve had a very
good connection with the Thai fans. I like them because they are very
passionate," states Marc.
Fans are invited to visit the exclusive Red Bull Energy Zone throughout the race weekend to further immerse themselves in the racing atmosphere. In addition to exclusive meet-and-greet sessions with Red Bull’s riders, attendees can partake in various on-ground activities for a chance to win official Red Bull KTM Factory Racing merchandise. The top scorers will earn an exclusive tour of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing garage and will be hosted in their hospitality area on Sunday.
And, for those interested in delving deeper into Marc’s perseverance and journey in the racing world, the MotoGP docu-series 'Marc Marquez: ALL IN' presents a unique opportunity. It showcases pivotal moments in his Honda career, from challenging times like his 2011 crash in Malaysia that caused diplopia and required surgery, and his 2020 MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix crash resulting in a fractured humerus, to major milestones like his 100th podium finish.
Fans can immerse themselves in Marc's relentless pursuit of triumph over adversity, exploring a captivating journey through a champion's path to recovery and his determined resolve to return to the track even stronger. Stream it FREE today on Red Bull TV.
