Jake Cuenca and Ivana Alawi summon bad omens in "Sitsit's" back-to-back horror flicks on iWant TFC

Jake Cuenca and Ivana Alawi will give us
back-to-back horror flicks,
on iWant TFC starting on movie series “Sitsit”.

Virtual media conference for iWant TFC's Halloween offering "Sitsit" with Jake Cuenca and Ivana Alawi, and producer Paulo Avelino with directors Ato Bautista and Erin Pascua .

Jake Cuenca and Ivana Alawi’s desire for money and sex will corrupt their minds and summon evil into their lives in the back-to-back horror flicks for the movie series “Sitsit,” streaming on iWant TFC on October 31.

“Sitsit” presents two different stories in “Scorpio” and “Aswang” about people who, out of desperation to escape their misery and turn things around, take the easy way out and end up attracting evil elements that will manipulate them and could tarnish their souls completely.

In “Scorpio,” named after the Zodiac sign, Jake and Dido Dela Paz portray Danny, a lustful aging photographer who fears living a lonely life with no one to love. To get the woman he loves and is obsessed with, he takes a mysterious potion that will turn him into a young handsome man to win her heart.

“Aswang,” on the other hand, follows a money-hungry prostitute named Joyce (Ivana) who is desperate to escape her life after being used and abused by different people. One day, she meets Nala, a stray dog who becomes her companion for life and ends up turning all her insecurities and worries into life-changing opportunities.

In Filipino myths, the word “sitsit” or “pssst” signifies a calling of an individual or object that is usually accompanied by a bad omen when one responds to such call. The two horror flicks, however, provide a darker twist and a modern take on Filipino folklore elements “aswang” and "gayuma,” as the characters summon evil spirits due to their selfish desires.

“Scorpio” is directed by Ato Bautista, while “Aswang” is directed by Erin Pascual.

Actor Paulo Avelino, meanwhile, co-produced "Aswang."

Catch “Sitsit” on the iWant TFC app (iOs and Android) or on iwanttfc.com starting October 31.

And that's what makes 'Haunted Forest' unique for our young viewers."
Direk Ian further explained, "We assure you that this is not just your typical jump scare movie because 'Haunted Forest' is a film that you have to think about per scene in order for you to feel the horror."

"If you'll watch it with your whole barkada, you will all definitely feel like you are friends with the movie's main cast and you are one with them in solving the puzzle of the story and you will altogether get to know who Sitsit is."

Outcast, which is based on the comic book of the same name by Kirkman and co-creator and illustrator Paul Azaceta, is a compelling story about a young man fighting manifestations of demonic possession, and it premieres on FOX on June 4, 2016, in the Philippines and Southeast Asia, with a simulcast on FOX Filipino and STARWorld. The series is simulcast in the country day and date, within hours of the US premiere on June 3, 2016.

Outcast is set to be FOX’s next global hit series, and is FNG’s first original scripted drama. The series features an award-winning production team and cast, including Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous), who plays the lead character of Kyle Barnes, Philip Glenister as Rev. Anderson, Reg E. Cathey as Chief Giles, showrunner Chris Black, director Adam Wingard, and composer Atticus Ross. The cinematic treatment of a genre previously unexplored on TV makes Outcast required viewing for fans of horror and stories about exorcism.

The premiere episode introduces the lead character of Kyle Barnes, a young man from the small town of Rome in West Virginia who returns home after a long absence. What marks Kyle is his dark history of having witnessed his loved ones undergo demonic possession—and it’s the reason why he left Rome in the first place. He returns years later to find the answers behind his family’s suffering, in the hopes that he can help Joshua Austin, an 8-year-old who lives in front of the Barnes house and is believed to be possessed by a demon that seems mysteriously connected to Kyle. Together with Rev. Anderson, a West Virginia evangelist who believes he is a soldier in God’s holy war against the forces of evil on Earth, Kyle revisits Rome to face his past, discover his fate, and possibly change the world forever.

To drum up excitement for Outcast, a series of huge wall murals was unveiled in locations with high foot traffic in 13 countries around the world including the Philippines from May 28 to June 3 to reveal a scene from Outcast’s first episode. Each city’s mural was painted by a local artist based on illustrations provided by Azuceta to depict one panel from the scene’s storyboard, similar to panels in a comic book. Renowned graphic design team Team Manila was assigned to create the Outcast mural in Manila, coloring in Azuceta’s black-and-white sketches and adding their own flourishes of Filipino culture to the art.

Every few hours, one mural in one city was unveiled online at https://outcastart.tv/ and on social media until all murals could be arranged by fans in the correct sequence to see a sneak preview of Outcast’s premiere episode. This global rollout of Outcast that includes countries in Europe and Latin America as well as Hong Kong and Southeast Asia was kicked off on May 28 at the London Comic Con, where stars of Outcast were present.

FNG also took promotions of Outcast to the digital realm in order to encourage fans to interact with the murals. The interactive and immersive website has become a hub for images and video content created during production of the murals and allows fans to follow them online and through social media.

Those who can visit a mural in person could also unlock previously unavailable content on their personal devices using geolocation, and if enough visitors log in to this they will be given access to a longer clip from the first episode of Outcast for an exclusive, more-detailed preview. More information on how fans can interact with the murals can be found on the website.
“FOX is excited to be featuring another show that pushes the envelope for the horror genre on TV, and an original scripted drama by FNG at that. We’re confident that Filipino fans who have loyally been tuning in to Kirkman’s previous work on The Walking Dead will embrace Outcast as another fine example of edgy storytelling, relatable characters, and excellent production,” said Charo Espedido, Director and Head of Marketing at FNG Philippines. “Our collaboration with Team Manila for Outcast was also another great opportunity to showcase local artistic talent on an international platform.”

Catch Outcast every Saturdays at 8:55pm beginning June 4, exclusively on FOX.

Star Cinema shares to Pinoy moviegoers Asia's funniest ghost story...PEE MAK

MARIO MAURER'S BLOCKBUSTER HORROR-COMEDY MOVIE "PEE MAK" TO HIT PH CINEMAS IN AUGUST

In its continuing celebration of its two glorious decades in the movie industry, Star Cinema distributes to Philippine cinemas Thailand's highest-grossing film of all time--"Pee Mak," a one-of-a-kind horror-comedy film that stars Thai superstar Mario Maurer. Asia's funniest ghost story "Pee Mak" is slated to be shown on theaters nationwide on August 28 (Wednesday).
After tackling relevant family issues in "Four Sisters And A Wedding," eye-opening connected tales of life, dream, and love in Skylight Films' drama-comedy film "Tuhog," and highly relatable ordeal of moving on from heart break in "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo" that was shown nationwide started July 31, Star Cinema and its loyal viewers will soon talk about a scary but funny tale of great love shared through Thailand's popular legend of Pee Mak and his ghost wife Nak (Davika Hoorne).

Directed by blockbuster director Banjong Pisanthanakun, who had previously helmed box-office horror films like “Shutter”, “4BIA” and “Phobia 2”, "Pee Mak" was also released in other Asian countries including Taiwan, Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Produced by GTH Films, "Pee Mak"s fresh take on a familiar tale, quickly rode high to Thailand's box-office as it reached USD 33 million with 10 million tickets sold nationwide.

Together with Mario and Thai sweetheart Davika in "Pee Mak" are Thailand's funny foursome namely, Nuttapong Chartpong, Pongsatorn Jongwilas, Kantapat Permpoonpatcharasuk and Attharut Khongrasri.

· Synopsis

During the beginning of the Rattanakosin Dynasty, many Thai men were drafted to serve in the war. “Pee Mak” or “Mak” (Mario Maurer) was no exception and had to leave his pregnant wife to join the fight. While at war, he met, saved, and formed a close bond with four fellow soldiers: “Ter” (Nuttapong Chartpong), “Puak” (Pongsatorn Jongwilas), “Shin” (Attrarut Khongrasri), and “Aey” (Kantapat Permpoonpatcharasuk) – (The 4 main cast from Phobia 2 Episode “In The End”)

Once the war was over, Mak invited his four best friends to visit his home at a town called Phra Khanong. When they arrived to Phra Khanong, Mak introduced them to his beautiful wife “Nak” (Davika Hoorne) and “Dang” his newborn baby boy. Ter, Puak, Shin, and Aey decided to stay in Phra Khanong for a while and moved into the old house across from Mak’s house. Despite having met Nak and Dang, a village rumor was going around that Nak had died giving birth to her stillborn baby, Dang.
It turns out that Auntie Priak, owner of the local liquor shop, was the source of the town rumor. This was completely absurd to Ter, Puak, Shin, and Aey. The four friends refused to believe this to be true and were determined to prove the rumors wrong.
Aunty Priak was found dead a few days later, her body floating along the river. Up until this point Ter, Puak, Shin, and Aey had never considered the possibility that Nak and her baby could be dead and now lingered on as haunting ghosts.
Initially, the four friends didn’t dare tell Mak about their suspicions because they were afraid that they would end up just like Aunty Priak. It didn't take long before their conscience caught up with them and they realized they owed Mak the truth since he had once saved all of their lives. Now they must risk their own lives to somehow convey to Mak that the living and dead shouldn't coexist together.

In the end, it will be up to Pee Mak to choose between love and reality.
Don't miss "Pee Mak," a comedy-horror film for the whole family that will be shown on Philippine cinemas in August 28, 2013.
