How to Get our Man to Care for his Mane

Beautiful, healthy hair just gives a woman that extra look of radiance, health and feminine beauty. Not to mention long, gorgeous hair helps a woman maintain a youthful look well in to her later years.

As women, taking care of our hair comes naturally. Beauty is a privilege that we are blessed to have fun with, and hair care is only one part -- albeit a significant one -- of the equation. We bathe and cleanse and pamper our hair like it were our skin, our fitness, and our entire look for the day. It’s almost as natural as replenishing our body with water.

Hair is actually one of a woman's stronger's assets and attraction triggers for men. But how to get our man to care for his mane.

This intrinsic part of being a woman does not come so naturally to men. While men’s fashion and style have evolved over the centuries just as equally with women’s, for the most part, looking good seemingly remains a hobby of the vain or metrosexual. It’s not about stereotypifying, it’s about a fact: how many men will openly admit to poring over scalp and hair troubles?

This is where women can step in. Sure, there are magazines, websites and blogs for men to peruse when it comes to maintaining their mane. But perhaps a little nudge from their woman can be encouraging enough for them not to shy away from genuinely caring for their hair. Not to mention, it’s a great ego boost, too.

Start by talking to him about hair -- every now and then. If you are still getting to know your guy, daily routines make for an interesting topic of conversation. Try to find out how much he spends on his looks, but of course, do so subtly. Does he visit the barber or salon often, and which does he prefer? If he is rocking a semi-bald Derek Ramsey look at the moment, does he have any plans of switching to the Justin Biebr do anytime soon? Is he one for conditioning, or is he more of the wash-and-wear type?

Be careful not to steer the conversation the way you would with a girl friend. The last thing you want to do is to freak him out! Keep it light and subtle. If he is the type to find it uncomfortable to discuss ‘beauty routines,’ look for opportunities to tease him about his hairdo every now and then. One thing to remember is never to put him down or make him feel small about it -- men are sensitive about their abilities, so watch out.

The best way to go would be to complement him for his current ‘do, and ask where he went to have his hair done. The idea is to talk about it like it were any other subject and try to get him comfortable as much as possible.

You can then follow that with the thoughtful act of observing his shopping list when you go out. What are the basic items he picks up at the drugstore? When you go shopping together, where does he like to frequent - is it the gadget hub, the music shop or the department store? Know what he likes, and then surprise him once with all these essentials that make him who he is. You could add an item or two as well that you think he will appreciate.

One good gift to throw in would be the naturally-made Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion. Though primarily known as nature’s remedy to hair loss, Novuhair works just as equally as a preventative solution. In fact, amazing side effects include maintaining the hair’s natural luster and preventing premature graying.

There’s no going wrong when it comes to a product of Mother Nature. Novuhair is made of herbal ingredients such as moringa oleifera, panax ginseng, virgin coconut oil, and the essential oils of rosemary and peppermint. Collectively these ingredients help increase nutrients and improve blood circulation to the scalp, detoxifying it of its impurities and caring for its overall health, including that of the hair.

Available in a 200mL bottle, Novuhair is best used after shampoo. Simply massage it onto the wet scalp and then rinse. Alternatively, it can be used as a styling leave-on that you can wear throughout the day.
First discovered by beauty and style icon Fanny Serrano, Novuhair has since been picked up by other celebrities for its proven effectivity. Its latest endorser is Mr. World 2012 runner-up Andrew Wolf, the British-Filipino hunk also known for his modeling, acting and athletic chops (Wolf is a member of the Philippine Volcanoes, too). If anything, the newly proclaimed NovuMan is one reason your man might want to give Novuhair a try!

Hair care is not rocket science. It’s part of ourselves, and part of our bodies, and knowing how to care for our mane need not be a symbol of vanity. It isn’t for women, and it certainly need not be for men.
